Surfing

Surfing Turtle Lodge offers surfing options that are designed for beginners to intermediate surfers who want the best location and advice possible, with kilometers of virtually deserted beaches to choose from.
*To book lessons with a surf instructor we need a 24 hr notice.

Beach Volleyball

Grab a volleyball and join a game or start your own. Enjoy the game with the Pacific Ocean in the background on an official size beach volleyball court on soft beautiful sand.

Yoga

Renew the Body and mind through our daily Yoga sessions! Our experienced instructor will help those who seek to exercise with others.
*Dependent upon availability of the yoga teacher.

Horseback riding

Take one of our horses and explore the island on your own or with a guide. Whether you want to gallop on the shores of the beach, or off in the lush vegetation trails in the back of the island, our horses are here to help you explore!

Fishing

Let Surfing Turtle Lodge introduce you to an experienced and friendly local fisherman to take you into the Pacific Ocean and catch beautiful fish with a variety of equipment provided for you.  You decide if you want to catch the early morning or evening fishing.

Basketball

Shoot some hoops in our brand new Basketball court!
Our half court is perfect for testing your basketball skills or join other travelers on a pick up game of three-on-three!

Volcano hikes

Nicaragua is often referred as the country of lakes and volcanoes and Surfing Turtle Lodge is located in the middle of this chain of volcanoes.  Let the hostel connect you with experienced and active hiking guides like Quetzaltrekkers and explore these giant natural wonders of Central America.

Volcano Boarding

Experience something unlike anything else, glide down a volcano.  If you have a taste for more alternative activities hike up Cerro Negro, a nearby volcano, to get the beautiful views of North-Western Nicaragua and take the plunge along with a group of fellow adventurers!

Wildlife Tour

Take a boat ride with a tour guide to the Isla Juan Venado Nature Reserve.  Juan Venado is 22km long and forms one of the important protected area in Nicaragua as part of the country’s national park system.  Find crocodiles, caiman, iguanas, crustaceans, a sea turtle nesting grounds, a bird nesting region, over 100 bird species and more.

Nightlife

Relax around a campfire, or enjoy our fully stocked bar. If a large group books in advance the Lodge is more than happy to organize a special event.
